Senior Field Service SpecialistMust have strong computer, IT, networking skills, customer-facing ability, and extensive travel availability.Prefer Electrical/low-voltage, Cat5/Cat6, validation/CQV, mapping, and calibration experience.The Senior Field Service Specialist at Rees Scientific is responsible for performing advanced installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of environmental monitoring systems and related equipment in regulated environments. This role serves as a senior technical resource in the field, exercising independent judgment and discretion in the execution of complex service activities, troubleshooting, and system optimization while ensuring all work meets established operational, quality, and regulatory standards.The Senior Field Service Specialist plays a critical role in delivering high-quality service execution, supporting validation and compliance activities, and enhancing customer satisfaction. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving capability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This role does not include direct people-management responsibilities but requires leadership in technical expertise, mentorship, and field execution.Working closely with Field Service leadership, Technical Support, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Experience teams, this role ensures accurate, compliant, and efficient service delivery across assigned regions.Key Responsibilities:Field Validation Execution & Technical SupportPerform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of Rees Scientific systems and customer equipmentLead complex service calls, including advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysisExercise independent judgment in diagnosing and resolving non-routine technical issuesExecute system testing, verification, and performance checks to ensure proper functionalitySupport validation-related activities including calibration verification and system readinessDiagnose hardware, software, and network-related issues and implement corrective actionsReview job documentation and system configurations prior to service executionQuality, Documentation & ComplianceComplete accurate and timely service documentation including service reports, calibration records, and work ordersEnsure all service activities comply with GMP, FDA, ISO, and company standardsMaintain audit-ready documentation in accordance with regulatory and internal requirementsSupport investigations, deviations, and corrective actions as requiredAdhere to all company safety protocols and customer site requirementsCustomer Support & CollaborationCommunicate effectively with customers regarding service activities, system performance, and recommendationsProvide professional recommendations and solutions based on technical expertise and system analysisSupport customer escalations and resolve complex technical issues in a timely mannerCollaborate with internal teams including Engineering, Technical Support, Quality, and SalesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to Field Service Technicians as neededContinuous Improvement & TrainingMaintain current knowledge of systems, tools, and industry best practicesParticipate in required training and certification programsProvide feedback to leadership on service processes, tools, and opportunities for improvementSupport initiatives focused on enhancing efficiency and customer experienceQualifications & ExperienceAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Life Sciences, or related field preferred; orFive to seven years of progressively responsible field service experience in a technical or regulated environment; orEquivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrated ability to perform complex, non-routine work requiring advanced technical knowledgeStrong technical background in calibration, troubleshooting, and system diagnosticsExperience working in regulated environments (GMP, FDA, ISO) preferredKnowledge of environmental monitoring systems and networking fundamentalsStrong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skillsAbility to work independently and exercise discretion and judgment with minimal supervisionStrong organizational, documentation, and communication skillsWillingness and ability to travel up to 75% as required to support customer sitesPhysical Requirements:Ability to travel up to 75% within assigned regions, including overnight and extended travelAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsAbility to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and climb ladders as requiredComfortable working in laboratories, cleanrooms, and industrial environments, including temperature variations.Ability to follow all safety protocols and procedures while performing field service activities
