Job Title

Registered Nurse – ICU (Charge Float)

Location

Denver Metro Region, Colorado (Float Zone – multiple facilities within a 60-mile radius of Denver city center, including locations in Lakewood, Longmont, and Westminster, CO)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite | Float Role

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Charge Nurse across a combination ICU environment (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, etc.) with no routine patient assignment, though a small assignment may occur on night shift when necessary
• Manage and titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
• Respond to Codes and Rapid Responses throughout the hospital as needed
• Assist in troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and breathing treatments
• Read and independently interpret telemetry strips without monitor tech support
• Float between facilities within the designated 60-mile zone based on scheduling needs, including both pre-scheduled and just-in-time (1–2 hours notice) assignments

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience with prior Charge Nurse experience; first-time travelers must have 3+ years of ICU experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Proficiency titrating all critical care drips including high-acuity supports (CRRT, IABP, Impella, etc.)
• Must reside or obtain housing within a feasible distance to float across the full 60-mile zone; a valid driver's license is required
• Must be available in-state for the full week of orientation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR, particularly required for first-time travelers
• Flexibility with weekend shifts (6–9 per 6-week schedule) and willingness to participate in holiday rotation
