General Manager – 3PL / Final Mile Delivery Operations

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven General Manager to lead and oversee our local Final Mile Delivery operations.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, excels at developing high-performing teams, and understands the importance of operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in logistics, transportation, or final-mile delivery operations. This individual will take ownership of daily performance, build strong relationships with clients and delivery partners, and implement strategies that drive efficiency, accountability, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership & Performance:

• Direct and oversee daily final-mile delivery operations, ensuring efficient execution and consistent service quality.
• Monitor, analyze, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, service quality, and operational efficiency.
• Identify operational challenges and implement proactive solutions to improve performance and minimize service disruptions.
• Develop and execute strategies to maximize productivity, reduce costs, and maintain profitability.
• Establish and enforce operational procedures, company policies, and client-specific service standards.
• Maintain operational readiness through effective staffing, resource planning, and coordination.

Team Development & Accountability:

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team with a strong emphasis on accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Establish clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, and drive a results-oriented team culture.
• Address personnel challenges promptly and professionally while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Financial & Business Management:

• Manage local operating budgets, control expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Evaluate financial and operational performance to ensure business objectives and profitability targets are achieved.
• Optimize staffing, delivery resources, and operational processes without compromising service quality.
• Provide accurate and timely performance reporting, operational updates, and improvement plans to senior leadership.

Client & Delivery Partner Relations:

• Serve as a key point of contact for client representatives, maintaining strong professional relationships and open communication.
• Ensure client expectations, contractual requirements, and service-level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met or exceeded.
• Oversee delivery teams and third-party delivery partners to ensure compliance with operational and service standards.
• Respond effectively to escalations, service failures, and operational concerns with a solutions-focused approach.
• Collaborate with internal leadership and client stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in operations management, logistics, transportation, or a comparable leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver measurable operational results.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, resource allocation, and performance management.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt quickly to changing operational demands.
• Proficiency in performance reporting, operational systems, and standard business software.
• A hands-on, accountable leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous management experience within a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) or Final Mile Delivery environment .
• Experience overseeing furniture delivery, white-glove delivery, or other high-touch residential delivery operations.
• Familiarity with delivery performance metrics, service-level agreements, and client compliance requirements.
• Experience managing independent contractors, delivery partners, or multi-team transportation operations.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
