Network Infrastructure Engineer

Network Infrastructure Engineer | Location: Jackson, MS | Contract | Hourly Pay Range $70-$80

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance a large-scale enterprise networking environment in Jackson, Mississippi. This hands-on role involves designing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced network systems across data centers, campus environments, and statewide operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with modern Cisco networking technologies and support enterprise security, virtualization, and observability platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Cisco Nexus platforms operating in ACI mode, including configuring VRFs, Bridge Domains, Endpoint Groups, and fabric policies.
• Integrate Cisco ACI with virtualization and container platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift and Cilium/Isovalent.
• Configure and optimize RoCEv2 within ACI environments to support high-performance, low-latency workloads.
• Troubleshoot complex issues within ACI fabrics, including fabric health, faults, endpoint learning, contracts, and multi-tenant segmentation.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network architecture documentation, standards, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Deploy, support, and maintain Cisco Catalyst platforms and Software-Defined Access (SDA) architectures across enterprise campus environments.
• Manage fabric underlay and overlay technologies, including policy mapping, authentication, and network assurance.
• Configure and administer Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), including TACACS+ policies, endpoint profiling, and identity-based access controls.
• Support Zero Trust initiatives through identity-centric segmentation and policy integration.
• Deploy and manage network observability tools such as ThousandEyes, Cisco Cyber Vision, and DNA Spaces, analyzing data to provide actionable insights.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network issues, including VLANs, OSPF, BGP, STP, multicast, TCP/IP, and QoS.
• Support enterprise security solutions, including Palo Alto Networks firewalls, and assist with platform upgrades and modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience working with Cisco networking technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI, including ACI constructs such as VRF, BD, EPG, ESG, L3Out, and contracts.
• Proven experience integrating ACI with virtualization platforms and container environments.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco Catalyst platforms and SDA technologies.
• Experience administering Cisco ISE, including TACACS+ and network access control policies.
• Familiarity with network observability and analytics platforms such as ThousandEyes, Cisco Cyber Vision, and DNA Spaces.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, QoS, and enterprise networking fundamentals.
• Ability to develop detailed network architecture diagrams, standards, and operational documentation.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco certifications such as CCNP Data Center, CCNP Enterprise, or CCIE.
• Experience with container networking and virtualization integrations.
• Knowledge of network automation using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with NIST cybersecurity frameworks and state-level cybersecurity requirements.
• Previous experience supporting large enterprise or government network environments.
• Certifications in Palo Alto Networks security technologies, such as PCCSA or PCNSA.
