Radiologic Technologist - Part Time

Job Summary The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants in the examination and treatment of UCSF‑GoHealth Urgent Care patients. The role performs and analyzes patient x‑rays, reports findings, and provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of urgent care centers. Exercise professional judgment in applying x‑ray energy for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes to patients of all ages. Perform x‑ray services, accurately position patients, and protect them during exposure. Maintain accurate patient records, scan charts, and perform daily equipment checks, calibration, and QA/QC documentation. Conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG). Provide test information to providers. Collaborate with the medical team to determine appropriate imaging views and procedures. Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA principles. Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning, and supply management of X‑ray equipment. Educate patients on procedures, ensure comfort and safety, and answer questions. Perform administrative duties such as maintaining medical records, conducting courtesy call‑backs, and managing repair tickets for equipment issues. Qualifications High School Diploma required; graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required. Experience in a clinical setting preferred. BLS (Basic Life Support) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registration required at the time of hire. State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at the time of hire, if applicable by state law. Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of X‑ray procedures, protocols, anatomy, and physiology necessary for imaging. Knowledge of radiology equipment, including safety hazards and maintenance requirements. Proficiency in patient positioning for optimal imaging results. Ability to identify mechanical or electrical equipment problems and notify supervisors. Understanding of infection control and radiological safety procedures. Strong documentation skills and competency in image management systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and medical staff.
