About the Role Lead Market Data Systems Engineer, Technology Data & Data Access. The successful candidate will manage critical aspects of Market Data, Trader Voice, and Trading Core Infrastructure technologies and will report directly to the Manager of Core Transactional Technologies. This role requires close collaboration with vendors and IT teams to resolve technical issues and drive strategic initiatives. Location: Boston, with regular attendance at Needham, MA office. Key Responsibilities Drive strategic initiatives, lead complex cross‑functional programs, and ensure reliable delivery of mission‑critical Trading and Investor services. Analyze enterprise‑wide business & information requirements; recommend scalable, firm‑wide system solutions. Lead planning, execution, & delivery of major technology programs and business initiatives. Architect, design, & implement high‑impact systems supporting core Trading & Investor platforms. Partner with engineering leads, managers, & stakeholders to align technology outcomes with strategic objectives. Define & maintain technical roadmaps for IT initiatives, platform modernization, and infrastructure improvements. Collaborate with team leads and management to deliver IT services with high availability and performance. Develop feasibility studies, project plans, & detailed time and cost estimates. Identify root causes of complex technical issues and communicate remediation & risk‑mitigation strategies. Ensure adherence to IT governance frameworks (Change Control, Architecture Review, Incident Management, IT Security controls). Participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation to support production systems and ensure operational stability. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Computer Science or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in financial services or related industry preferred. Strong customer service orientation with ability to troubleshoot & resolve diverse technology issues. Exceptional project management, client support, & relationship management skills. Proven ability to manage vendors & third‑party service providers. Experience with market data/trading applications, vendor feeds, and infrastructure. Knowledge of market data delivery models, security identifiers, entitlement management; market knowledge spanning Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Commodities, Derivatives, Private Funds. Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript (preferable). Experience with Linux & Windows OS. Experience leveraging AI productivity tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude). Experience building, deploying, operating applications in cloud environments (AWS &/or Azure) is preferred. Ability to design & maintain business intelligence dashboards using Power BI or Tableau. Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and information security; network experience is a plus. Working knowledge of SQL & database management. Knowledge of trader voice, trading turrets, voice recording is a plus. Personal Characteristics Strong analytical problem‑solving & sound decision‑making in high‑impact environments. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: USD 90,000 - 180,000. Employees are eligible for variable compensation, benefits, and potential discretionary bonuses.
