Job Description:


- Position: LDRP RN - Family Birthing Center
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights
- Schedule: Every Other Weekend
- Essential Qualifications:
- Must have experience in Labor & Delivery, Mother & Child care
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification highly preferred
- Catch the Baby Experience: Preferred travelers should have experience in NRP role; must be comfortable in assisting at deliveries.
- Work Environment:
- Unit is focused on high-risk pregnancies, including term and preterm patients.
- Excellent breastfeeding support available.
- Patient Ratios:
- 1:2 for Labor & Delivery
- 1:1 for Delivery
- 1:4 for Mother/Baby couplets
- Usage of Technology:
- EMR System: Cerner
- Telemetry: Ability to read and interpret EKG strips required
- Floating Requirements:
- May float to other facilities in the Sacramento area
- Mid-shift float may occur
- Orientation:
- Expect 2-4 days of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor
- Supportive Staff:
- Charge Nurse available; generally does not take patients but provides break relief
- Nurse Aides available based on census
- Additional Notes:
- Hospital has RT and Pharmacy available 24/7
- Self-scheduling utilized, with schedules posted 4 weeks in advance
- On-call response time of 30 minutes
