Director of Finance

Title: Director of FinanceLocation: Columbus, OHOur client, located in Columbus OH, has an immediate need for a Director of Finance. The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial management. This role ensures the company's financial health by providing leadership, analysis, and recommendations that support business objectives and drive profitability. The Director of Finance partners with executive leadership to develop financial strategies, improve processes, manage risk, and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.Key Responsibilities:Financial Leadership & StrategyDevelop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.Provide financial guidance and recommendations to executive leadership.Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities for growth, cost savings, and operational improvements.Support long-term business planning, forecasting, and capital allocation decisions.Financial Planning & AnalysisLead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights on financial results.Accounting & ReportingOversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes.Manage external audits and tax reporting activities.Cash Flow & Risk ManagementMonitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements.Develop strategies to optimize cash management and financial performance.Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, and company policies.Identify and mitigate financial risks.Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting team members.Establish performance goals and provide ongoing coaching and professional development.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Business PartnershipCollaborate with department leaders to develop budgets and manage expenditures.Support operational decision-making through financial analysis and reporting.Evaluate business opportunities, investments, contracts, and acquisitions as needed.Qualifications:EducationBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.MBA, CPA, CMA, or other advanced financial certification preferred.Experience8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.3+ years of leadership or management experience.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic planning.Experience managing audits and financial compliance requirements.Skills & CompetenciesStrong financial analysis and strategic planning capabilities.Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with ERP systems, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel.Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. #J-18808-Ljbffr Embark Recruiting Solutions
