Job Overview Assess patients prior and current health, screen patients, make determination for pre-medication protocol. Responsibilities Proficient in IV insertion / VADs. Proficient in blood specimen collection. Administer and oversee intravenous injections of contrast media and other medications (IV and PO) as needed. Assist Radiologist, Anesthesiologist, and Cardiology staff during various procedures. Manage acute reactions (adult and pediatric). Monitor patients. Give and explain discharge instructions. Qualifications Ability to perform non-routine tasks requiring analytical ability and judgment for emergency situations, manage stressful conditions effectively. Adapt to changing work environments related to changing needs of patients with acute, chronic, complex, and/or terminal disease processes. This requires analysis of each situation and the ability to act accordingly when modifying procedures without compromising techniques or patient care. Maintain current/valid State of New Jersey license, CPR, ACLS/PALS certifications and complete annual training as required including OSHA, Blood-borne Pathogen Category I, HIPAA and other categories as requested. Maintain good working relationships and communication with internal staff (patients, physicians, and other medical office staff). Maintain accuracy in the performance of duties including recording of one's attendance. Knowledge of all equipment necessary to perform job functions. Other duties may be assigned as circumstances require. Position requires a full range of motion and heavy physical effort; this role is classified as very heavy work (exertion of force as defined per USDOL). Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination required. Constant talking and listening in English, ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, speech clarity, deductive, and inductive reasoning skills. Must work cooperatively within the health system and multidisciplinary team (MDs, front desk, scheduling, technologists). Must utilize effective time management skills to set priorities, problem solve, and deliver care. Employment Details Full-Time/Part-Time Per Diem. Shift – not applicable.
