Associate Attorney- Civil Litigation

This position is intended for attorneys who currently reside within approximately 45 minutes of our Santa Barbara office or who are willing to relocate before their start date. Please do not apply if you live outside this commuting area and do not intend to relocate. Snyder Burnett Egerer, LLP is a well-established civil litigation firm representing businesses, insurers, transportation companies, and individuals throughout California. We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of litigation experience who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client contact, and courtroom experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is looking to develop as a litigator while working alongside experienced trial lawyers in a collaborative and supportive environment. What You'll Do The successful candidate will manage a diverse litigation caseload and play an active role in all phases of litigation, including: Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda Conducting and defending depositions Appearing at hearings, mediations, and court conferences Developing case strategy and managing deadlines Working directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel Assisting with trial preparation and trial work Performing legal research and analysis What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Active membership in the California State Bar 2-5 years of civil litigation experience Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills Excellent organizational and case-management abilities Ability to handle multiple matters in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to professionalism, responsiveness, and client service Preferred Experience Insurance defense, business litigation, transportation/trucking litigation, or general civil litigation Deposition and courtroom experience Experience independently managing litigation files Competitive salary based on experience Performance-based bonus opportunities 401(k) with employer matching Medical, dental, and vision insurance Mentorship from experienced litigators Early opportunities for deposition, hearing, and trial experience Collaborative, team-oriented culture with a manageable firm size Snyder Burnett Egerer, LLP is a Santa Barbara-based litigation firm known for delivering exceptional representation in business disputes, insurance defense matters, transportation litigation, and other complex civil cases.
