Paynesville Area Schools is in search of a Districtwide Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) beginning the 2026-2027 school year.
Start date: August 24, 2026 Closing date: June 1, 2026 This is a full time position that follows the school calendar.
Additional hours as mutually agreed upon. Full job description is attached.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Building Principal and the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) assists in the delivery of speech and language services to students with communication disorders. The SLPA carries out treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP and supports students in accessing the general education curriculum. All services are performed within the delegated scope of practice as defined by the supervising SLP and in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, sections 148.511 148.5196. Essential duties outlined below are intended as "representative" examples of the level, nature and decision making expected of positions assigned to this classification. The duties below are not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all duties and tasks performed by the employees assigned to this classification. Minimum Qualifications: Requires licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant by the Minnesota Department of Health under Minnesota Statutes, section 148.5181. To qualify for licensure, candidates must meet ONE of the following education requirements:

- An associate degree from an accredited college with a speech-language pathology assistant program AND completion of at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork in speech-language pathology assisting; OR
- A bachelor's degree in communication sciences or disorders AND completion of an SLPA certificate program that includes at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork in speech-language pathology assisting.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must submit to and pass a criminal background check.
- Requires a valid Minnesota driver's license.
- SLPA license must be renewed every two years with required continuing education.
