Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical

Schedule
Shift: Nights only, 36 hours/week
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend required; must be able to work holidays.

Assignment Details
Duration: 13-26 weeks accepted
Ratios: 1:5-6 (night shift)

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience
- BCLS certification required
- Experience with heparin and insulin drips, blood product administration, dysrhythmia recognition/management and basic EKG competence, IV/peripheral line care, PCA, and wound care.
- Charting system experience: Epic preferred

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide care for medical/surgical patients, including those on telemetry.
- Administer medications, IVs, and blood products following facility protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report changes in condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient care and interactions accurately in electronic medical records.
- Participate in patient education regarding health management and recovery.

Compliance / Notes
- Must pass EKG test for this specialty.
- Pre-start testing: candidate must complete required testing within 48 hours of signing.
- Infection control and safety protocols must be followed at all times.
- Scrubs: Navy.
- RTO up to 7 days auto-approved (no holidays); no RTO during the first week.
- All RTO must be pre-approved; cannot request additional RTO after signing.
- Any call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation/DNR.
