Biomedical Equipment Technician 1
GE HealthCare
Entry-level biomedical equipment technician position supporting GE HealthCare customers in the Gainesville, Georgia area. Diagnoses and repairs medical equipment, performs preventive maintenance, and ensures customer satisfaction through responsive service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer biomedical equipment issues and implement repairs under supervision
- Perform planned maintenance and safety/environmental inspections on medical devices
- Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and satisfaction
- Document all repair actions and submit reports according to established schedule
- Comply with GE policies, hospital protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality management standards
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- High school diploma/GED with 2+ years equipment servicing experience (alternative pathway)
- Military education or completion of GEHC Biomed/FE Services internship or externship program
- Strong analytical and communication skills, ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Physical capability to lift/carry up to 35 lbs, bend, climb, and maintain dexterity; good color and distance vision
- Willingness to participate in rotating on-call schedule including weekends
