As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.Job ResponsibilitiesApplies depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders daily to stay focused on common goalsWork in a collaborative, trusting, thought-provoking environment—one that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions that are in the best interests of our customers globally.Develops using Test Driven Development and is familiar with working in a Continual Integration environment on a shared code base.Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsApplies technical experience will allow you to take the lead on feature design and development, as well as allowing you to identify new features and help form the strategy and direction of the program.Provides technical leadership and mentoring while being open and inclusive, encouraging the whole team to participate in design and developmentPrototype and deliver AI-enabled/agentic workflows (e.g., tool-using agents, orchestration patterns, evaluation and guardrails) and translate stakeholder needs into technical designsMentor engineers and partner with application teams to drive best practices across reliability, performance, risk, cybersecurity, and legal/compliance requirementsRequired Qualifications, Capabilities, and SkillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceAdvanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplinesExtensive core Java (version 8 or higher) development experience with Spring or similar frameworkTest Driven Development using JunitExpert understanding of data structures, algorithms & multi-threaded programmingExperience working on multi-threaded, high throughput mission critical high-performance platformsExperience in designing and building reusable servicesExperience with data security and encryption in an enterprise settingExperience with Java Spring Boot, Hibernate, Kafka, Cassandra, Kubernetes, PowerMock, JMeter, Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, Jenkins, Sonar, Fortify, Black Duck, Bitbucket, JIRA, ConfluenceDemonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practicesPreferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and SkillsExperience with cloud native applications development (e.g. AWS, GCP, private cloud, etc.)Ability to influence architecture and design across distributed systemsKnowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practicesAbility to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goalsChase is a leading financial services firm, helping nearly half of America's households and small businesses achieve their financial goals through a broad range of financial products.
