Family Engagement Coordinator

To ensure active and meaningful family engagement by leading parent education, family leadership, family engagement initiatives, and successful transitions from enrollment through program exit while supporting Family Service Staff across all program options.


Language: Bilingual in Spanish OR Cantonese preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Initiative Coordination: Lead and coordinate agency-wide family engagement initiatives; develop family engagement resources, workshops, and engagement campaigns.
• Parent Leadership: Coordinate Parent Ambassadors, Family Committees, and parent leadership opportunities.
• Parent Education: Develop and coordinate parent education including financial literacy, parenting education, health education, and family learning opportunities.
• Transition Support: Support family engagement from enrollment, orientation, and onboarding through transition and program completion; coordinate Pre-K to Kindergarten and other transition activities.
• Staff Coaching & Training: Coach Family Service Staff (FSS) on family engagement best practices and strategies; provide coaching, technical assistance, and training to FSS.
• Program Alignment: Support Center-Based, Home Visiting, and FCCHEN programs, ensuring the implementation of the Parent, Family and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and agency policies; conduct monitoring, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities.
• Data & Documentation: Monitor ChildPlus documentation, file quality, and family services requirements; analyze family engagement data and recommend improvements.
• Policy & Communication: Develop and update policies, procedures, forms, and family service tools; maintain regular communication with staff and families to support quality program performance.
  Collaboration: Collaborate with other content areas to support children and families; participate in Self-Assessment and other program improvement activities.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: Minimum three years of experience working with children and families, with proven experience working alongside diverse populations.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Human Services, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Regulatory & Community Knowledge: Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start standards and local community resources preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office and ChildPlus data management systems.
• Service Coordination: Ability to effectively coordinate services across multiple program options.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• The pay range for this position is $59,510 - $92,240. A new hire generally starts between $59,510 and $75,870. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets, relevant experience, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
