About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Required DC RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must provide proof of pending status at time of submission. Must have DC license in hand prior to start date. Description: S44 Transplant ICU requires a Registered Nurse for the night shift. The schedule is 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30. The unit serves a variety of patients including those post-transplant and with multisystem organ failure. Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is required. Candidates should have knowledge of multi-system organ failure, IV insulin protocols, GI surgery, chronic and acute renal failure, and CVA/acute stroke management. Experience with external ventricular drains, hypothermia protocols, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery management is preferred. Skills required include managing ventilated patients, blood product administration, and care for patients with traumatic brain injury. Nurses will need to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity as necessary. Charge experience is preferred. Candidates will have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy services. COVID-19 vaccination is not required, but flu vaccination is mandatory without exemptions. Submittals must include supervisory references that support at least 2 years of experience.
