Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician Play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of Smart Buildings. Responsible for service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems, inspecting, testing, operating and maintaining components, and training junior technicians. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements. Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs. Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality; report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material. Code compliance: identify code and non‑conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards. Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects. Plan work with mentor, lead technicians, and supervisors to strategize tasks effectively. Basic Qualifications 3+ years experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems. Ability to differentiate types/colors of wire, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, and carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted. Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; associate degree in electronics or related field preferred. Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 2 within 12 months. 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems. Ability to read/understand design and construction documents. Pay Pay range: $49,195 - $84,334 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
