Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse permanent placement opportunity working 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This role focuses on providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum. The RN will serve as a clinical leader during the shift, coordinating care, supervising team members, and ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes. The position offers shift differentials and potential sign-on or relocation incentives, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, patient safety, and professional growth.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Active Illinois RN license required
• ADN required
• NRP certification required (within 1 year if not current)
• BLS or CPR certification required (within 90 days)
• ACLS certification preferred (within 90 days)
• Strong knowledge of maternal/newborn care and labor & delivery procedures
• Ability to lead and supervise a healthcare team
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius (no local candidates accepted)

Unit Details: Procedures The L&D RN will assess patient conditions, develop individualized care plans, and implement interventions throughout the labor and delivery process. Responsibilities include monitoring maternal and fetal status, coordinating care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and supervising nursing staff during the shift. The RN will document all care accurately, provide patient and family education, and respond to changes in patient condition. Additional duties include evaluating patient outcomes, supporting safe delivery practices, and maintaining compliance with infection control and safety standards while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
