Intake Specialist

The Intake Specialist is responsible for the intake process at the facility. Liaises with remote admissions to the team and establishes professional rapport with clients to ensure they feel welcomed upon arrival. Supports the client arrival process, including the initial assessment, searching the client’s belongings/person for prohibited items, and orienting the client to the facility. Ensures required documentation and paperwork are completed and maintained. Essential Functions Liaise with client/family of potential admissions to address any questions or concerns. Coordinate facility tours with clients and families who are potential admissions. Interface with remote admissions team and on-site clinical team for necessary approvals, plan for client arrival, including travel arrangements as applicable. Establish professional rapport with client to ensure they feel welcomed upon arrival. Support arrival process, including coordinating assessment/bed placement, and searching client belongings/person for prohibited items. Orient client to the facility/milieu. Liaise with direct care, nursing, and clinical team to ensure client is set up with a treatment plan and schedule as needed. Ensure intake paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and documentation is maintained as required. May discuss client’s financial responsibility and take payment as applicable. Provide exceptional customer service in line with Acadia Healthcare standards. Education / Experience / Skill Requirements High‑school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 1–2 years of experience in a patient care environment in a substance use/behavioral health setting, preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills, and an ability to use required computer programs. Licenses / Designations / Certifications De‑escalation training, CPR and/or First‑Aid certification as required by the facility.
