Worship Director/Pastor

Victor Community Church is a vibrant, growing family church in Victor, NY approximately 16 miles Southeast of Rochester in the Finger Lakes region. We worship God in an upbeat, contemporary style and teach straight from the Bible. Our focus is on Jesus Christ and learning to be more like Him. VCC was birthed/planted in 2008 because 23 people who attended Pittsford Community Church at the time desired a family church in their own community. They began by meeting regularly in homes and grew rapidly. After a few years in 3 temporary locations, we found our current property where we created our fellowship’s home in 2016. We are seeking an experienced, innovative, energetic, & relational individual to lead our Worship Ministry. This person will contribute to our overall mission of making loving disciples of Jesus Christ who worship, grow, serve and share. Qualifications Strong sense of calling and identity in Christ Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams and individuals Ability to engage a multi-generational and diverse church family Good oral and written communication skills Understanding of the production side - sound, video, media, stream, etc. Minimum of 3 years experience leading in a congregational setting A college degree is preferred Interested individuals should send a Letter of Interest and Resume to View email address on click.appcast.io. This is our working position description (will be finalized to new Director): Summary The Worship Director will provide environments for the congregation of Victor Community Church to worship. This will help to accomplish our overall mission of making loving disciples of Jesus Christ who worship, grow, serve and share. Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of congregational worship at VCC Oversee/lead worship at Sunday services and schedule replacement in your absence. Oversee and coordinate all aspects of worship ministry (ie. song selection, media preparation, technology set up, practice schedules, integration of people and instruments, etc.) Oversee and coordinate the aesthetics of worship environments (staging, decoration, etc.) Develop expanded opportunities for the congregation to worship beyond Sunday services Develop teams to carry out worship ministry Recruit and empower worship team members Recruit and empower technical team members Provide regular training opportunities for staff/volunteers Develop, coach and encourage new and/or younger team members Be a good steward of all worship resources Oversee worship budget lines Oversee care, maintenance and storage of equipment, music, etc. Oversee compliance with licensing, copyrights, etc. Participate in regular staff meetings and personal development opportunities Assist and resource other VCC ministries in worship (VBS, youth worship, etc.) Perform other ministry tasks as needed Perform an average of 40 hours weekly in worship ministries Relationships The Worship Director works under the direct supervision of and is accountable to the Lead Pastor The Worship Director will be the leader of those involved in the worship ministry The Worship Director must work harmoniously within the context of the staff team The Worship Director must engage with the congregation in order to effectively lead our diverse community in worship The Worship Director shall become a member of VCC The Worship Director will network with other worship leaders in and around the community #J-18808-Ljbffr
