Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative assessment and planning for general surgery patients to ensure readiness for anesthesia
- Verify patient identity, procedure, site, allergies, and consent; communicate with the perioperative team to minimize risk
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient status in the preoperative phase; maintain patient safety and comfort
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans
- Document care accurately in the patient record; adhere to nursing standards, regulations, and professional ethics
- Support patients and families with information, education, and reassurance; coordinate transports and positioning as needed

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- Experience or exposure to perioperative/preoperative nursing or operating room care; strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in a hospital perioperative environment and follow established policies and procedures
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety, with emphasis on ethics and professional responsibility
- Capable of working day shifts on a 12-hour, 3x12 schedule and adapting to workflow in a fast-paced setting
