Job Title:Information Security Engineer

Location:Charlotte, NC, Chandler, AZ, Irving, TX (Las Colinas) - (Hybrid)

Contract Length: 12 Months

Pay Rate: $69/hour - $74/hour

Role Overview

An experienced Lead Information Security Engineer is sought to act as a technical lead and subject matter expert for securing a large, complex enterprise network. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining scalable network security controls across internal networks, internet-facing services, and hybrid cloud platforms. The position involves providing expert guidance on network security architecture and ensuring alignment with security and compliance requirements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and engineering knowledge for large, complex infrastructure technology efforts.
  • Guide security solutions to meet policy requirements, utilizing industry best practices.
  • Identify security concerns and issues with network, application, and services solutions.
  • Lead complex strategy and design efforts for security solutions.
  • Lead computer security incident response activities for highly complex events and conduct post-incident investigations.
  • Provide security consulting on large projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate standards.
  • Design, document, test, and maintain highly complex security solutions related to networking, cloud, and endpoint security.
  • Review and correlate security logs and identify security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with professionals at all levels, including managers, and serve as a technical leader to peers.
Required Qualifications


Experience: 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.


Technical Skills:
  • Deep hands-on experience with enterprise firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco, Fortinet).
  • Strong expertise in firewall policy design, rule lifecycle management, and traffic segmentation.
  • Experience with Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention (IDS/IPS), secure web gateways, proxy technologies, network load balancers, and edge security controls.
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SSL/TLS, and VPN technologies.
  • Strong familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST CSF / NIST 800-53, CIS Critical Security Controls, and FFIEC guidance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing security controls at a large enterprise scale.
  • Familiarity with automation (Python, Infrastructure-as-Code, firewall-as-code).
  • Experience evaluating or onboarding new security technologies.
  • Experience creating or maintaining security policies and technical requirements.
  • Practical experience implementing Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) or micro/macro segmentation.
  • Experience securing cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, PCNSE, or GIAC.
