Haul Truck Driver

Heavy Haul DriverNorthStar Energy Solutions, LLC. is hiring! The Heavy Haul Driver is responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment, oversized loads, construction materials, and utility construction assets to and from job sites, yards, vendors, and project locations. The role supports field operations by ensuring equipment is delivered on time, properly secured, and in compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, permit requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local transportation laws.Required QualificationsValid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean and acceptable driving record.Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience operating commercial tractor-trailers; heavy haul or equipment transport experience strongly preferred.Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, vehicle inspection requirements, and load securement standards.Experience loading, unloading, chaining, binding, and transporting heavy equipment safely.Ability to read and understand permits, route plans, maps, GPS instructions, delivery paperwork, and basic equipment information.Ability to safely operate manual and automatic transmission trucks as required by the fleet.Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT and company requirements.Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight travel, and overtime as project needs require.Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, communication skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Preferred QualificationsExperience in utility construction, electrical transmission, distribution, gas, telecom, substation, foundation, or civil construction environments.Experience operating lowboy, RGN, extendable, multi-axle, pole, reel, flatbed, step deck, or specialized utility trailers.Experience hauling oversized or overweight loads and working with route permits and escort requirements.Familiarity with construction equipment operation sufficient to load and unload equipment safely.Tank, doubles/triples, or hazmat endorsements, if required by company operations.Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify maintenance issues before they become safety or reliability concerns.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit and drive for extended periods while maintaining focus and safe vehicle control.Ability to climb on and off trucks, trailers, and equipment using three points of contact.Ability to stand, wall, bend, kneel, reach, twist, pull, and perform repetitive movements during inspections and load securement.Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed, including chains, binders, straps, tools, and safety equipment.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, mud, and uneven terrain.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility clothing, steel-toe boots, and other job-specific PPE.Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceEqual Opportunity EmployerAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
