Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN, you will assume responsibility for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient, advancing modern nursing through compassionate care.

• Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.

• Evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.

• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

• Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV's, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.

• Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.

• Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner.

We are offering a $20,000 Sign on bonus in addition up to $10,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Schedule- 36hrs/ week- Days- 4x 9hr shifts- Variable start times and Days of the week per surgical volume and current unit needs. TBD during interviews with OR Manager.

Call required - weeknights/ weekends and Holidays - Approx. 2-4 weeknights and 1 weekend in a 8 week schedule.

Job Requirements

Required

• Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs

• RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

Preferred

• Previous PACU experience or strong clinical background

• Previous PACU/ICU/ED experience highly preferred

• One year of Nursing experience

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing

Where You'll Work

As a Registered Nurse in the Pre-Op unit at St. Francis Hospital, you will facilitate patient preparation and care coordination within a modern surgical department featuring 16 OR suites, 23 PACU bays, and 17 pre-op beds. In this role, you will manage an average daily volume of approximately 40 cases, focusing on the essential steps required to prepare patients for surgery. Your responsibilities include providing patient education, conducting comprehensive health assessments, detailed home medication review, and physical exams, and performing clinical prep work such as IV starts and medication administration. You will also be responsible for verifying all preoperative documentation and coordinating safe, efficient hand-offs to the surgical team. This position requires participation in a weeknight and weekend call rotation to ensure consistent department coverage.

Pay Range

$33.15 - $59.67 /hour
