Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse in the Family Birthing Center provides comprehensive care to laboring mothers and neonates, ensuring safety, well-being, and patient education throughout all phases of labor, delivery, and postpartum. The role involves assessing patient needs, collaborating with the healthcare team, and maintaining a safe environment for mother and baby.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor the health status of laboring patients and neonates, promptly addressing any complications.
• Deliver direct patient care, including assisting with labor, delivery, postpartum, and breastfeeding support.
• Educate mothers on pregnancy wellness, postpartum care, and infant care techniques.
• Document all clinical events, interventions, and patient education accurately in medical records.
• Communicate patient conditions effectively to physicians and nursing supervisors.
• Collaborate with nursery staff to provide comprehensive mother/baby care and assist with medical procedures as needed.

Qualifications:

• Maintain an active Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado.
• Hold a minimum of an Associate’s Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Require two years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in labor and delivery.
• Possess or obtain ACLS certification; NRP certification required, NRP preferred.
• Be proficient in patient assessment, emergency response, and documentation.
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
