TAK and Mobility IT Systems Engineer

MANTECH seeks a career and customer‑oriented TAK and Mobility IT Systems Engineer to join our team in Alexandria, VA . This is an onsite position. In this role, you will assist with the integration of mobile platforms and communication systems to deliver real‑time situational awareness to mission partners. You will serve as a technical coordinator between systems engineering, tactical communications, and field operators. Responsibilities System Access & Provisioning: Coordinate with the customer team to gain mobility system access and push required security certificates to operational devices as they are identified and created. Tactical Communications Coordination: Liaison with the TACCOM team to coordinate operational updates, system changes, and network upgrades from a mobility perspective. Field Support: Support technical communication and troubleshooting efforts for operators deployed in the field. Deliver tactical technical engineering, including comprehensive field assessments, site surveys, and spectrum management, to ensure network reliability in contested environments. Documentation: Develop, standardize, and document step‑by‑step procedures for all mobility and provisioning processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field AND 9+ years of experience, OR Ph.D. and 5+ years of experience, OR Master’s and 7+ years of experience, OR Associate’s and 11+ years of experience. Experience delivering tactical technical engineering, including conducting comprehensive field assessments, site surveys, and spectrum management to ensure mobile network reliability and data transmission in contested or low bandwidth environments. Demonstrated experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining enterprise TAK Server environments and associated client applications (ATAK, WinTAK, oriTAK). Experience implementing federal cybersecurity configurations and system hardening to support security compliance. Preferred Qualifications Experience working directly with public safety stakeholders to capture operational requirements and translate them into technical TAK capabilities. Advanced knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) architectures, digital certificate deployment infrastructure, and network protocols. Active certifications in networking (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) or cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP). Security Clearance Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen and must be able to obtain and maintain agency suitability prior to starting this position. Position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Physical Requirements The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co‑workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
