All positions are subject to criminal background and/or reference checks, as applicable.About the RoleWe are looking for an energetic, organized, and people-focused Activities Coordinator to help plan and deliver an engaging activity program for our international students at EF's Tarrytown campus.Our activities are an important part of the student experience. From exploring New York City and attending sporting events to weekend trips, on-campus events, and evening socials, the Activities Coordinator helps students experience everything the New York area has to offer while building friendships and making the most of their time abroad.This role combines event planning, student engagement, customer service, administration, and hands-on activity leadership. You'll help coordinate the activity calendar from behind the scenes while also being present with students, supporting Activity Leaders, promoting upcoming events, and helping activities run safely and successfully.No two days look exactly the same. We're looking for someone who can be creative and enthusiastic with students while also staying organized, solving problems, and keeping track of the details that make a busy activity program work.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning, coordinating, and executing a varied calendar of activities, excursions, events, and overnight tripsHelp develop activities based on student interests, feedback, attendance trends, and seasonal opportunitiesCoordinate activity logistics including transportation, tickets, reservations, vendors, schedules, staffing, student lists, and activity materialsCommunicate with external vendors and local partners to confirm bookings, pricing, schedules, and activity detailsPromote activities to students through in-person engagement, digital platforms, social media, flyers, and other campus communication channelsEncourage student participation and help students understand activity options, pricing, schedules, and sign-up proceduresRespond to student questions, feedback, and activity-related concerns in a friendly and timely mannerSupport Activity Leaders with activity preparation, instructions, materials, student lists, and day-of logisticsLead and accompany student activities and excursions as neededHelp ensure activities are operated safely and in accordance with EF policies and proceduresMonitor activity attendance, student feedback, and operational issues to identify opportunities for improvementAssist with tracking activity costs, ticket inventory, bookings, participation, and other program-related informationSupport new student arrivals, orientations, welcome activities, and other campus eventsWork closely with the Activities Manager and other campus teams to support the overall student experienceAssist with other student services and campus responsibilities as neededWhat We're Looking ForStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent customer service and communication skillsFriendly, outgoing, and confident working with students from a wide variety of countries and culturesAbility to balance administrative responsibilities with a highly social, student-facing roleComfortable coordinating multiple activities, deadlines, and priorities at the same timeCreative and enthusiastic about developing experiences students will want to participate inAble to remain calm, flexible, and solution-focused when plans change or unexpected situations ariseComfortable leading groups and communicating instructions clearlyReliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a teamComfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new digital platforms and systemsKnowledge of New York City and the surrounding areaAbility to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends based on the activity calendarPrevious experience in activities, events, tourism, hospitality, camps, education, customer service, or a related field is preferredAdditional QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred, but not requiredPrevious experience working with international students or young adults is a plusEvent planning, tour guiding, group leadership, or travel industry experience is a plusAdditional language skills are a plusValid driver's license is a preferredWhat EF OffersDiscounts on EF programs for staff, friends, and familyFree use of EF Hello, our premium language-learning appOpportunities for domestic and international career developmentThe opportunity to work with students and colleagues from around the worldA fun, fast-paced, and highly international work environmentAnd much moreCompensation for this role is $40,000 per year.
