Job Description:

Under the direction of the Radiation Oncology Manager, the Radiation Therapist performs localizing tumors. The therapist participates in treatment planning. They deliver high doses of ionizing radiation treatment to patients in accordance with prescription and instructions from Radiation Oncologists. The Radiation Therapist displays and practices a work style that reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organization. They participate in the continuous quality improvement process. It is essential to maintain a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, including the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventive maintenance. The Radiation Therapist should possess excellent customer service skills. They must be able to analyze, identify root causes of problems, provide practical solutions, and negotiate resolutions. Proficiency in CT simulation techniques is required. Computer skills are necessary, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Radiation Oncology EMR. Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills are important for this role.

Experience: Minimum years of experience required

License: Licensed by the state Department of Health Services as a Radiologic Technologist (Therapeutic)

Certifications: Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy or equivalent as recognized by the ARRT. Current Basic Life Support (BLS), approved by the American Heart Association.
