Interventional Rad Tech PRN East

Responsibilities Perform diagnostic angiographic procedures and complete complex vascular and non‑vascular interventional procedures exams on inpatient, outpatient and emergency department patients. Assist radiologist and/or other physician with procedures and “scrubbing in” as necessary. Perform each exam using proper technical and positioning factors in accordance to the protocol manual. Monitor patient condition and evaluate exam for quality and completeness. Set up and maintain sterile tray. Operate all imaging and processing equipment using proper technique. Utilize all EMR features and document: complete and accurate patient history, document any additional patient information in RIS for the radiologists’ review. Provide care to all age groups: involve parents when appropriate, utilize radiation protection, and use additional personnel when appropriate. Ensure that all exam information is correct, complete, and recorded, including supplies. Ensure all forms completed for invasive procedures. Complete online risk events. Supervise students by ensuring exam within capabilities, providing direct supervision until competency, indirect supervision thereafter, evaluating and approving radiographic studies, and completing student objective sheets and area evaluations. Perform basic safety: practicing isolation and universal precautions, participating in annual in‑services as required, awareness and communication of fall risks, practicing radiation safety, utilizing lead aprons, and closing lead‑lined doors. Utilize knowledge of sterile technique. Basic computer knowledge. Understanding of vascular anatomy. Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians. Independently manage time and priorities. Work effectively within a team environment. Work without direct supervision. Work accurately and efficiently under time constraints. Exhibit outstanding customer service skills. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Current ARRT (R) and current license as a Radiologic Technologist by the State of Indiana required.
