Our Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing assessment, direct instruction and services to youth identified with complex communication needs associated with severe speech and/or physical disabilities.
Job Duties
Screen referred students for speech, language and/or hearing, as needed. Participate in the referral process guided by the school district and follow-up activities as necessary to the referral, assessment, or service delivery process.
Assess students to determine current level of performance. Determine level of service based upon current assessment and draft an Individual Education Program (IEP) or goals/objectives based upon student needs.
Implement Individual Education Programs. Provide speech and language therapy. Develop speech and language program materials as needed and/or requested.
Maintain records and write reports. Document student progress and monitor student performance.
Work with the Director of Education and/or Special Education teacher to schedule speech and language training.
Attend required meetings pertaining to fulfilling the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Provide information and training to staff, parents, and volunteers, as needed to fulfill a student’s educational services related to speech language goals and objectives.
Document, maintain, and submit speech and language services for Medicaid billing, as necessary.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Education or which are indicated to assure the physical and emotional well-being of students.
Adhere to policies and procedures of the school district and private alternative education program.
Work in collaboration with the educational team, specialists, and team members that are affiliated with the private alternative school and school district.
Minimum Qualifications & License
Hold a Speech-Language Pathology License as issued by the State of Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
Current Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and continuously required to stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools.

Must pass a background check and have a current Oregon Driver’s License.
