Senior Software Test Analyst – Consultant

Location: Columbia, SC
Duration: 12 Months

Position Summary

The Senior Software Test Analyst Consultant will support enterprise-wide quality assurance initiatives by planning, designing, and executing testing activities across various applications, systems, and business functions. The role combines manual testing expertise with test automation capabilities to improve software reliability and delivery efficiency.

This position will work collaboratively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and QA leadership to ensure testing activities align with organizational standards and business requirements.

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Test Planning

• Participate in the development and execution of enterprise testing strategies.
• Review business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentation.
• Translate business processes into detailed testing scenarios and test cases.
• Develop comprehensive test plans for system implementations, enhancements, and regression testing.
• Ensure adequate test coverage across integrated applications and business processes.

Automation Testing

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Tricentis Tosca.
• Support automation framework enhancements and reusable testing components.
• Evaluate opportunities to automate repetitive and regression testing activities.
• Work with automation teams to implement efficient and maintainable test solutions.

Test Execution and Defect Management

• Execute manual and automated test cases across multiple environments.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution and closure.
• Perform defect analysis and support root cause investigations.
• Validate defect fixes and conduct regression testing.
• Maintain accurate test documentation and execution evidence.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

• Prepare test status reports, quality metrics, and defect dashboards.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.
• Identify process improvements to increase testing efficiency.
• Support knowledge sharing and training activities related to testing tools and methodologies.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Business, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and testing best practices.
• Experience with business process analysis and documentation.
• Ability to create test scripts from functional and technical requirements.
• Understanding of enterprise business processes including Finance, HCM, Logistics, and Treasury.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Tricentis Tosca, Tosca Commander, and Tosca TBox.
• SAP or S/4HANA testing experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise system migrations.
• Knowledge of web, API, and mobile application testing.
• Familiarity with Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or comparable tools.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
• SQL knowledge for database testing and validation.
• Agile/Scrum and Waterfall project experience.
• Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Tricentis Tosca certification is an advantage.
