Experienced Remodeler - Drywall Repair, Patching & Texture

Job Description

Job Description

ALL STAR CONSTRUCTION is hiring an experienced, hands-on remodeler/drywaller for residential and commercial projects throughout Orange County, California. We need someone who can complete quality remodeling and drywall repairs independently with minimal day-to-day supervision after receiving the scope and instructions. This role focuses on drywall repair, patching, finishing, texture matching, interior painting and general remodeling finish work.

Employment, schedule and pay

Part-time W-2 employee position with variable shifts based on available projects.

Hours depend on workload. No minimum hours or fixed weekly schedule are guaranteed.

Pay: $18.75–$32.00 per hour, based on relevant skills and experience.

Paid biweekly, every other Friday, through ADP payroll.

Applicable higher minimum wages, overtime and project-specific prevailing wages will be paid where required by law.

What you’ll do

Perform general home remodeling and finish carpentry, including trim, baseboards, doors, site preparation and finish repairs; assist with residential and commercial remodeling as assigned.

Assess and prepare damaged drywall; repair holes and cracks, install backing and patches, and hang or replace drywall sections as needed.

Tape, mud, skim coat and sand drywall for a smooth, paint-ready finish.

Match existing orange-peel, knockdown and smooth textures, blending repaired areas with surrounding surfaces.

Prime and paint repaired surfaces to achieve a seamless, professional finish that blends with the surrounding area.

Protect homeowner and customer property and belongings, contain dust, and leave neat, clean work areas with professional workmanship.

Use tools and required protective equipment safely and work professionally in customers’ homes and businesses.

What we’re looking for

Demonstrable hands-on remodeling, drywall repair, patching, finishing, texture matching and painting skills required.

Ability to plan and complete assigned tasks independently after receiving the scope and instructions; check your work and communicate issues promptly.

Follow jobsite safety requirements, permit and trade rules, and required quality checks. Specialized electrical or plumbing work must follow applicable licensing, permit and supervision requirements.

Familiarity with common drywall and painting tools.

Dependable attendance, attention to detail, teamwork and professional conduct.

Have your own reliable transportation arrangements to changing job sites throughout Orange County, California. Worksites are countywide; Garden Grove is our home base, not a radius restriction. Owning a car is not required if you can reliably reach assigned job sites.

Photos of previous work are welcome but optional.

Tools and work expenses

Personal tools are a plus; employer provides legally required tools and safety equipment. Personal tool ownership is not a condition of employment. Compensable work travel is paid, and required vehicle and other business expenses are reimbursed as required by law.

Paid introductory period

Your first 30 calendar days begin with your first paid work or required training. We evaluate reliability, safety, skills, workmanship and teamwork based on work actually performed.

All work and required training are paid. This is not an unpaid trial or a fixed 30-day employment term. It does not delay statutory benefits or rights or guarantee work hours, continued employment, a raise or full-time status.

How to apply

Apply through ZipRecruiter with a brief summary of your remodeling experience and availability.

Optional application question

If hired, what work-shirt size would you prefer? XS–4XL, Other, Not sure, or Prefer to provide after hiring. This is for uniform preparation only and is not considered in hiring decisions.

Work location: In person, at Orange County job sites.
