THE POSITION

In this role, you will perform essential maintenance and repair work on a wide range of equipment, including hand tools, construction machinery, and trucks powered by gasoline and diesel engines with both manual and automatic transmissions. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on maintaining and repairing a wide variety of vehicles, construction equipment, and powered tools to support safe and reliable operations. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:

• Equipment Repair: Perform maintenance and repair work on gasoline and diesel vehicles, trucks, tractors, and construction machinery
• System Diagnostics: Carry out mechanical checks and tune-ups, replace parts, and complete repairs on cooling, suspension, electrical, fuel, brake, steering, and driveline systems
• Safety Inspections: Conduct official state safety and emissions inspections and complete required records and paperwork
• Field Service: Provide emergency roadside service and perform repairs at field locations when necessary
• Parts Management: Obtain needed supplies, provide original equipment manufacturer (OEM) information, and maintain accurate equipment records
• Workplace Safety: Maintain a safe work area, follow proper procedures, and take proactive steps to prevent accidents

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Travel, overtime, and shift work required. Work hours are subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,819.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
• Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
• This position requires possession of a validPennsylvaniaClass 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.

Additional Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
