The Opportunity We are seeking an Instructional Designer II to design and develop engaging learning solutions for our Insurance Professionals. This role is crucial in equipping the Contact Center with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to provide exceptional service and support to our members. The candidate selected for this role, partners with business leaders and Learning Performance Consultants to gather and validate learning requirements (performance requirements, measures of success, terms, and conditions). Performs analyses, designs, and develops learning curriculum to improve performance of USAA employees. Assesses the learning outcomes that need to be achieved, understands the performance expectations and gaps, and assists in deriving the appropriate learning solution. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. - Design and develop interactive facilitator-led and online content that meets the learning needs of the business.
- Organize course content to produce curriculum that meets learning needs of the business.
- Develop and manage timelines and milestones.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and appropriate use of course content guidelines.
- Participates in the creation of learning objectives, design documents and learning experiences to meet business requirements.
- Supports the development of tools and processes that measure effectiveness of curriculum solutions and learner performance to ensure solutions meet employee skill development requirements.
- Continue to develop an understanding of the business, its products, and processes to design and develop learning curriculum to improve performance of USAA employees.
- Collaborate with Learning Performance Consultants (LPC) to gather information and provide design recommendations.
- Resolves issues and identifies appropriate issues for escalation.
- Partners with contract designers to ensure deliverables are aligned with business requests.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 2 years progressive work experience in instructional design to include training industry experience and working knowledge of instructional design tools and methodologies.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, project management skills, multi-tasking, and project flexibility.
- Strong communication skills with ability to plan, prioritize, monitor, and respond to changes quickly.
- Experience with instructional authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360 and/or Adobe Suite.
- A strong understanding of Property and Casualty insurance concepts
- L&D experience specifically in insurance sales and service.
