Job Summary Psychology Associate at Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility (LBTCF), Burien. Provide psychological and behavioral services to youth with developmental and intellectual disabilities, promoting independence, stability, and quality of life. Responsibilities Conduct psychological and functional behavior assessments and develop comprehensive Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs). Monitor, evaluate, and revise behavioral support plans through data analysis and behavioral observations. Design, implement, and oversee behavioral data collection systems to track target and replacement behaviors. Train, coach, and mentor direct care staff on behavioral interventions, PBSP implementation, data collection procedures, and Therapeutic Options principles. Provide behavioral consultation, crisis intervention, and clinical support to interdisciplinary team members. Participate in treatment planning, psychological reviews, program monitoring activities, and interdisciplinary team meetings. Deliver direct counseling and skill‑building services under the supervision of a licensed psychologist while maintaining compliance with DSHS, DDA, federal regulations, and mandated reporting requirements. Qualifications and Skills Master’s degree (or higher) in psychology from an accredited program. Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and behavioral intervention strategies. Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and factors influencing client behavior. Ability to analyze behavioral data, identify trends, and make data‑driven recommendations for treatment improvement. Ability to train, coach, and guide staff in implementing behavioral interventions and support plans. Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and respond effectively to behavioral crises. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation and multidisciplinary collaboration. Ability to interpret and apply policies, regulations, and confidentiality requirements while maintaining accurate records and professional relationships. Benefits and Work Schedule Work schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. King County employees receive a 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible for a free ORCA card. On‑site opportunities at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay. About LBTCF Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility (LBTCF) is a therapeutic program operated by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, in partnership with the Department of Children, Youth and Families and the Health Care Authority. The program serves youth ages 13 to 17 with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and co‑occurring behavioral health needs. It provides whole‑person, trauma‑informed care with evidence‑based therapies and a person‑centered approach that emphasizes strength‑building, skill development, and family engagement. The facility accommodates up to 12 participants and supports successful transitions to home or community settings.
