Operations Coordinator - Data Center Power Generation

Salary: $83,000 - 166,100 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Operations Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of experience in power generation, utility or energy operations, data center infrastructure, or industrial operations.
• Experience with electrical load forecasting, generation planning, and coordinating complex operations across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Preferred: experience with natural gas scheduling or fuel nominations, turbine operations, mission-critical infrastructure or hyperscale data centers, environmental permitting and air emissions compliance, Conduct of Operations, or SCADA, EMS, and generation management systems.
• Preferred: knowledge of utility operations, dispatch coordination, and power system reliability.
• Core competencies include real-time operations coordination, demand planning, dispatch and fuel coordination, operational readiness, environmental compliance, cross-functional leadership, risk assessment, sound decision-making, and continuous improvement.

• Coordinate real-time operations for assigned data center generation assets, ensuring generation capacity is ready to meet forecasted electrical demand.
• Monitor operating conditions, coordinate generation dispatch, support real-time decisions, and organize responses to changing loads and generation events.
• Develop and maintain rolling 14-day electrical load forecasts; analyze historical trends, weather, operational activity, and business forecasts to improve accuracy.
• Coordinate forecast updates with Operations, Engineering, Capacity Planning, and other stakeholders; validate day-ahead forecasts, adjust them as conditions change, and review forecast performance.
• Develop daily and forward natural gas nominations, coordinate with suppliers and generation providers, monitor fuel availability, and complete day-ahead and real-time fuel adjustments.
• Work with generation providers to maintain asset readiness and coordinate dispatch, planned outages, maintenance, operating constraints, and daily communications.
• Coordinate monitoring of air permit limits and emissions thresholds, track permit utilization, support environmental reporting and documentation, and escalate potential compliance concerns.
• Apply Conduct of Operations standards, coordinate communications across operational teams and external partners, and uphold procedural compliance, effective shift handovers, and operational discipline.
• Participate in operational reviews, readiness assessments, and incident investigations; promote continuous improvement.
• Track generation performance, forecast accuracy, dispatch effectiveness, and fuel use; prepare leadership reports, identify improvement opportunities, and support emergency or after-hours coordination as needed.
