Referral Clerk

The Staff Pad has partnered with a reputed healthcare organization in Hamilton, TX to find dependable and experienced referral clerks to assess insurance eligibility, benefits and facilitate patient scheduling through appropriate departments.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities

• Process internal and external referrals to verify eligibility and benefits
  
• Receive provider referral forms and schedule appointments to ensure continuity of patient care
  
• Obtain insurance information, secure authorizations, verify benefits, and provide patients with estimated upfront financial responsibility
  
• Schedule consultant appointments and notify patients within the requested timeframe
  
• Copy and send relevant medical records to consultants via mail or fax
  
• Cross-train to support Business Office and Medical Records functions
  

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of patient records & adhere to organizational policies and procedures
  
• Deliver courteous, compassionate, and efficient service to internal and external customers
  
• Collaborate respectfully & effectively with colleagues and always represent the organization professionally
  
• Perform additional duties in a competent, professional, and courteous manner
  

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
  
• 1+ year of experience in a medical clinic environment
  
• Ability to walk, sit, stand, and lift up to 40 pounds as required
