Corrections Maintenance Foreman - SCI Huntingdon

As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will take the lead in daily maintenance and repair work that keeps the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Huntingdon running at its best. This role gives you the chance to guide inmate crews, apply a wide range of trade skills, and take ownership of projects that make a clear difference. You will help create a cleaner, more efficient, and well‑maintained facility through strong direction and hands on expertise. This position oversees inmate crews and supports a wide range of maintenance, repair, and trades work across SCI Huntingdon. The role helps ensure that daily operations, facility upkeep, and work assignments are completed accurately and efficiently. As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman, you will perform the following duties: Crew Supervision: Oversee inmate work crews completing construction, groundskeeping, janitorial, and general maintenance tasks Work Planning and Review: Plan daily assignments, organize schedules, and inspect finished work for quality Trade Support: Perform or assist in semi-skilled and skilled work in carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work, masonry, welding, and other trades Tool Control: Issue, track, and inventory tools and materials, and conduct searches to ensure accountability for all items Material Management: Identify needed materials, prepare purchase requests, and ensure supplies are available for work assignments Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,010.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
