Kismet is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to join our tiny-but-mighty team. This role is for a career-driven chef looking to grow in a creative kitchen with an emphasis on consistency, team building and excellent quality. We are looking for a chef who leads with structure, discipline, and care — for the food and the people making it.
About Kismet
Kismet is a neighborhood atelier focused on seasonal gourmet provisions, offering artisan cheese & charcuterie, and occasionally hosting private events and workshops.
The Role
Working closely with the Chef-Owner and Sous Chef, plays a hands-on leadership role in daily operations, menu execution, and team development.
What You’ll Do
- Enjoy working in an open kitchen and interacting with guests
- Help lead day-to-day kitchen operations
- Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Support menu and recipe development
- Oversee prep, execution and development of BOH systems
- Manage par levels and inventory
- Uphold food safety, sanitation, and organization standards
- Communicate clearly, professionally and with kindness
Who You Are
- A career chef with 3-4+ years of Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine experience
- Experienced in fine-dining or similarly high-standard kitchens
- Organized, detail-oriented, and systems-minded
- Comfortable leading while staying hands-on
- Committed to growth, amenable to feedback, and promotes a positive kitchen culture
