Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care to surgical patients, ensuring safety, professionalism, and patient-centered service throughout the surgical experience. Skilled in assessment, documentation, and emergency procedures, supporting optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough and systematic preoperative and postoperative assessments, adapting care to patient age and specific procedures.
• Deliver competent clinical care, supporting team efforts and managing emergency equipment and protocols.
• Maintain accurate, complete documentation of nursing interventions, patient progress, and educational activities.
• Promote patient safety by adhering to infection control standards, universal protocols, and body mechanics for transfer techniques.
• Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, risks, and postoperative care to foster understanding and cooperation.
• Assume responsibility for prioritizing and directing patient care, adjusting plans based on condition changes.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 1 year of healthcare experience.
• Current BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of perioperative procedures, patient safety protocols, and assessment skills.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
