About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in MS/Tele License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - One year of experience with EPIC - Ability to float to similar units as needed - Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change Description: This position involves working night shifts three times a week. Floating to similar units is required if needed. You will utilize the Omnicell medication system. Candidates must have at least one year of EPIC experience. The following certifications are mandatory: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. An active RN license is also required. A minimum of one year of MS/Tele experience is essential. First-time travelers will be considered based on experience. Special procedures include post-heart catheterization and bedside procedures such as dialysis catheter insertion, thoracentesis, and incision and drainage. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 6:1 during the day and 7:1 at night and on weekends. The daily patient census is approximately 30. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics with general medical diagnoses. Essential Skills include: - Accessing and managing ports - Blood product administration - Central line care/management - Continuous bladder irrigation - Feeding tube care and management - Heparin protocols - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Isolation precautions and PPE - Management of cardiac drips without titration - MS/Tele experience - Peripheral line care/management - PICC line management - Pre/Post hemodialysis management - Starting and maintaining IVs - Wound care and management Travelers must be 100 miles away from any facility to be eligible unless specific exceptions apply. All assignments will require floating to other units per request due to census concerns. Only qualified staff will float to units where competencies have been demonstrated and documented. Modules required for all travelers must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login information. Travelers are eligible for reimbursement for hours spent completing modules, up to a maximum limit specified by the organization.
