Purchasing Clerk**

Washington County Administration is seeking applications for Purchasing Clerk** This position is responsible for purchasing supplies and equipment for the County in accordance with General Municipal Law 103 and established policies and procedures. Independent judgement is necessary in daily activities. The work is performed under general supervision of the County Administrator and Deputy County Administrator. Does related work as required.

** The NYS Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (HELPS) Program temporarily removes the civil service exam requirement for specific titles across State and Local agencies. To be eligible for jobs in the NYS HELPS program, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the position and other conditions of employment. More information may be provided if you indicate interest in the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Possession of a bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field; OR
Possession of an associate’s degree in business administration, Accounting, or related field and two (2) years of experience in purchasing commodities; OR
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of experience in purchasing of commodities.

RATE OF PAY : $28.71/hour plus benefits
