Director of Operations, Houston Legacy Contracting & Construction | Houston, TX (Market Launch) The Opportunity Legacy Contracting & Construction is expanding into Houston, and we're looking for the person to build and lead that market from the ground up. This isn't a role where you inherit a team and a pipeline. This is a market-builder role — the chance to stand up Houston operations, establish the client experience, build the local team, and run the market like it's your own business, backed by an established DFW operator that already knows what works. We built our DFW market on one principle: homeowners should never have to wonder what's happening with their project or who's accountable for it. The Director of Operations, Houston will own that standard in a brand-new market — sales, client relationships, project oversight, and team leadership, all under one person until the market is big enough to specialize. What You'll Own Market Launch — Stand up Legacy's presence in Houston: local vendor relationships, subcontractor network, permitting processes, and day-one operational infrastructure. Sales & Client Relationships — Run discovery calls, in-home consultations, and the sales process for Houston leads until the market supports a dedicated design/sales function. Project Oversight — Own project delivery from signed contract through completion. Homeowners should feel like someone is always in control of their project. Team Building — Hire and develop the people who will eventually run production, design, and admin functions under you as the market grows. P&L Ownership — Operate the Houston market like a business unit. You're accountable for its performance, not just its activity. Brand Representation — Be the face of Legacy in Houston the way our DFW leadership is the face of Legacy in DFW. Trust is built by a person, not a logo. What We're Looking For Construction or remodeling industry experience — residential preferred, but strong operators from adjacent trades (roofing, siding, outdoor living, general contracting) will be considered. A track record of running client-facing sales conversations, not just managing crews. Someone who can operate with real autonomy. In the early stages, there is no team to lean on — you're building it. Organized and communicative by default, not by effort. This has to be who you are, not something you're trying to get better at. Entrepreneurial mindset. You should want equity in the outcome, not just a paycheck for showing up. Willingness to be based in Houston and be present in the market daily. Compensation Base salary plus a performance-based structure tied to market profitability and sales production, with additional bonus opportunities tied to early market growth milestones.
