We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.Job SummaryResponsible for providing information and education regarding breastfeeding to patients and families and assists patients with the establishment of lactation.Essential FunctionsProviding lactation assessment, planning, education and instruction to patients and familyIdentifies and aids in resolution of breastfeeding difficulties, develops care plans with staff to meet individual patient's needs and provides follow-up consultationsOffering post-delivery consultative care to patients: breastfeeding/Chest feeding, family bonding and planningEvaluating patient's response to care and initiates independent and/or collaborative changes where appropriateCoordination and management of care for patients, including those with complex needsProvides information and education regarding breastfeeding to maternity and NICU staffQualificationsEducation: Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferredLicenses and Credentials: Certified Lactation Counselor/Consultant [CLC] - Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice preferred International Board Certified Lactation Consultant [IBCLC] - International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) preferredExperience: Lactation consulting 2-3 years preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong patient/customer service skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to build strong relationships.
