Clinical Research Coordinator III

Coordinate behavioral and supportive care clinical trials at the WVU Cancer Institute Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations, guidance, and policies Collaborate with investigators, research staff, clinical staff, and ancillary departments to implement and conduct trials Participate in monitoring and auditing reviews by internal or external agencies Serve as liaison between research teams, clinical staff, and participants Monitor protocol adherence and support community outreach and trial advocacy Develop and manage recruitment strategies and evaluate their effectiveness Manage informed consent processes and documentation Educate participants throughout the study lifecycle Assess eligibility and monitor participant adherence Assign participants to behavioral therapy interventionists Schedule and track protocol tests, procedures, assessments, and samples Assess and address barriers to informed consent and protocol implementation Document adverse events Maintain accurate source documentation and data reporting Collect and upload assessment, intervention, patient‑reported outcome, and actigraphy/light meter data Support collection, storage, and processing of saliva and blood biomarker samples Collaborate on trial budgets and coverage analyses Coordinate participant and interventionist payments Participate in professional development and improve behavioral therapy research processes Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related field Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a health‑related field, in clinical or health‑related research Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered Comfortable with computers, tablets, and the internet Experience with Microsoft Office products Willingness and ability to learn new software Ability to work independently with minimal direction CITI Certification must be completed within 30 days of start date Must be willing to travel to all areas of West Virginia to meet ad hoc individual participant needs Ability to communicate via phone, email, in‑person, and presentations Critical thinking, problem‑solving, organization, time management, and attention to detail Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in coordinating clinical trials, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing participant interactions.
