Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Must be willing to work days or nights based on facility needs Hours per Shift: 36 hours guaranteed Experience: Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience preferred License: Current licensure in the state of employment required Certifications: Valid driver's license required Must-Have: - Graduate from an accredited college, university, or nursing program with a degree/diploma in nursing - Current state licensure Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) plans and provides comprehensive nursing care. This includes executing orders from licensed independent providers. Dispensing and administering medications as required. Assisting licensed independent providers in examinations and treatments. Applying nursing and supervisory techniques in the care of patients. Performing all technical and clinical procedures within the scope of education and licensure. Attending sick calls with the physician to assess patients. Preparing lists of patients for examinations and preparing the examination room and equipment. Operating pill call, dispensing medications, and documenting as required. Contacting licensed independent providers for medication orders and emergencies. Examining and assessing new patients with illnesses or injuries. Referring patients to emergency rooms or other healthcare facilities as necessary. Performing emergency procedures and notifying licensed independent providers as needed. Coordinating professional medical services provided by contract personnel. Monitoring inpatient hospitalizations for early releases when appropriate. Providing guidance and supervision to licensed vocational/practical nursing staff. Maintaining good working relationships with facility staff and outside provider agencies. Utilizing established policies and procedures in decision-making. Evaluating the provision of medical services to prevent inappropriate use or duplication. Maintaining security and confidentiality of all medical records. Assisting with the review of medical files to ensure documentation of services provided. Monitoring potential catastrophic illnesses closely. Auditing pharmacy use for adherence to formulary as required. Complying with applicable pharmacy laws regarding controlled substances. Observing and recording patient behavior. Inspecting the medical unit for potential contraband. Providing health counseling and education as required. Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of various operational records and reports. Reading, analyzing, and interpreting medical and technical procedures and regulations. Reviewing and responding to lawsuits, attending court hearings when necessary. Facilitating accreditation processes of medical programs by providing required services. Preparing safety and accident reports as mandated and taking action in emergencies.
