Family Law Associate Attorney

Serving clients for over 130 years, Farrish Johnson Law Office was established in 1893 and is one of the most experienced and trusted law firms in Southern Minnesota. Our seven-attorney firm is located in Mankato and is proud of its long history, collaborative culture, and highly skilled support staff. We are currently seeking an Associate Attorney with 0-5+ years of experience and a strong interest in family law to join our team. This position requires knowledge of family law statutes and the ability to apply them effectively in a variety of legal contexts. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting legal documents, representing clients in court, and negotiating settlements. Above all, our Family Law Associate Attorney will be committed to achieving positive outcomes for clients, while maintaining the highest standards of legal ethics and professionalism. Compensation Starting salary: $90,000 Additional formulaic incentive bonus plan based on performance. All applications will be held in confidence. Minimum Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in the State of Minnesota. At least 0-5+ years of experience in family law or a related practice area. Preferred Qualifications Experience with complex family law cases. Familiarity with mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes. Responsibilities Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, motions, and settlement agreements. Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations. Provide clients with clear, timely communication about their case and legal options. Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure effective case management. Skills Strong interpersonal and client-relations skills. Excellent written and oral communication.
