Responsibilities may include: Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems Diesel engine maintenance and repair Working on marine electronics and vessel support systems Fabrication and repair projects Assisting with HVAC and plumbing-related maintenance Using tools and equipment safely and effectively Working collaboratively to complete projects efficiently and safely Skills & Experience We Value Experience or working knowledge in any of the following areas is highly valued: Electrical systems Marine electronics Diesel engines and mechanical systems Hydraulic systems Rigging principles HVAC systems Troubleshooting and diagnostics Metal fabrication Paint and refinishing work Basic plumbing (threaded and crimp-style piping) What Makes You a Great Fit Marine experience, including work and/or maintenance on tugs and barges, preferred 5+ years of mechanical experience/knowledge performing diagnosis, repairs and maintenance on CAT, Detroit, and Cummins, preferred Strong mechanical aptitude Physically able to board tugs and barges Ability to work in confined spaces Comfortable working with hand and power tools Self-motivated and dependable Able to work independently with little guidance Team-oriented with a positive attitude Willingness to learn and take initiative Commitment to safety and doing quality work Willing and able to work overtime as directed by supervisor to meet operational demands Work Environment This is a hands-on, active role that requires flexibility, accountability, and teamwork.
