Start date is 3-4 weeks out upon compliance. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4-5 for all shifts. Candidates with 1-2 years of experience preferred, but first-timers are accepted. Every other weekend work is required. No on-call shifts are required. The role will require floating within the service line as needed. This position does not accommodate block scheduling. Local candidates are not accepted within a 75-mile radius. Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract is allowed. Special requirements include passing an EKG exam and managing dysrhythmias. Patients may present with various conditions including infections, renal, cardiac, pulmonary, oncology, orthopedic, bariatric issues, and long-term care needs. The high patient turnover means nurses will work with a diverse range of cases in each shift. Additional training will be provided to handle various patient conditions. Special equipment used includes pumps, non-invasive ventilation devices, scanners, lifting devices, and EKG machines. This facility is a short-term acute care facility with a high volume of patient admissions. Dress code is navy scrubs, and charting is done through a specified system.
