Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of experience and multiple certifications including TNCC and ACLS.

Details

• Work in a 101-bed Emergency Department at a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
• High-volume ED with over 100,000 annual visits
• Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
• Support staff includes techs (cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, triage) and unit clerks on days and nights
• Equipment used includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Charting and documentation performed in Cerner
• Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required; scheduling must meet departmental needs and block scheduling is not available
• Floating within the ED to all sections is required; no floating outside of the ED

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in an ED setting
• Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) strongly preferred
• Previous HCA experience preferred
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Nurses are expected to adhere to AIDET communication standards, maintain respectful behavior, and keep patient whiteboards updated throughout each visit
• The department is known for its strong teamwork culture and welcoming environment, serving a highly multicultural community with over 120 languages represented in the surrounding area
• Navy scrubs are required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible for this position
